THE PLAN

As you can see above, we have lots of fun adventures in store for us. After six months of working and living in Canada, we plan to travel down the West Coast of America, seeing the sights. I'm particulary excited about beautiful San Fransisco, a place I fell in love with when I visited a few years ago. We're also excited about hitting up Vegas. I've heard of $20 all-day all-you-can-eat buffets and $1 beer and hotdogs ohh yeahh.

Zane and I are then going to continue down to South America for six months. There's so much to do and so much culture to experience. Already on the agenda are trips to the Galapogos islands, Iguazu falls, Macchu picchu, and explorations down the Amazon.

Then we're heading over to Tanzania in East Africa for a few weeks. Zane's Dad was born in Tanzania and a group of Zane's and my family are heading over to check out the amazing country. My best friend Kendall has also spent a lot of her life over in Tanzania and her family are living over there so we'll have a great oppurtunity to catch up and see the country with some locals.
After African Adventures Zane and his family and I will be heading up to Europe, for a German Christmas and New Years in Iceland. With any luck, Zane and I will have some money left, enough to buy a van to explore Europe.

THE STORY SO FAR...
In just 11 days, we will be jetsetting off to Canada. We have left behind our jobs in idyllic, sunny Hamilton Island, in far North Queensland, and we’re throwing it all in for a white winter. This all started about three years ago. Zane and I were feeling disillusioned with the hustle and bustle of Brisbane, me having finished my degree and not feeling ready for the 9-5 grind, and Zane, having worked full-time since school had finished. So we decided it was time for a change. Enter my Dad, who had recently moved up to Hamilton Island and was having a great time, working on island time, being sea-locked with the majesties of the Great Barrier Reef just a stone’s throw (or quick boat ride) away.
Fast forward to now, two and a half years later and we’ve just finished our time on the island, older, wiser, but surprisingly, not any more tanned. So now we set our sights on Canada for the winter. Hey, maybe over there our white scaly bodies will fit in better.. Coming along for the ride are Robyn and Adam, a couple who we met on the island, on a very drunken night, which resulted in best buddies and a broken wrist.. but that is a story for another time.
Anyway, back to travels, we’re heading to Fernie to live and work (jobs and accommodation pending). Lots of excitement and drunken times await, hopefully you will enjoy our documentation via this blog!
Love, T and Z
